My Story
McKenna is a San Diego local and graduate from UC Irvine with a Bachelors in Theatre Arts and Minor in Sociology. She is a Professional Theatre Artist, Educator, Props Maker, and Stage Manager. Her hobbies include traveling the world, rollerskating, and trying out new recipes. She has worked several Teaching Artist jobs including teaching the "Theatre Front to Back" program at both Roosevelt Middle School and El Camino High School through New Village Arts, Carlsbad, and is the resident Teaching Assistant for "The Kids College" North County, teaching at various schools such as Mary Fay Pendleton School, Live Oak Elementary School, Beaumont Elementary School and Foothill Oak Elementary School. She additionally is the resident Production Stage Manager at Star Theatre Company, Oceanside, managing casts and communications for casts as large as 100 people, including but not limited to children's theatre. McKenna's goals as an educator includes using Arts Integration, Maker Education, and Culturally Relevant Teaching to give students practical hands-on experience, boost academic engagement and self-confidence, encourage innovation and collaboration, and restore justice in the classroom.
